Description

The Compact Umbrella Bin is sized for venues that see around eight umbrellas at their busiest point. That covers a lot of Australian businesses: a cafe during a lunchtime shower, a medical clinic with a full waiting room, a boutique hotel check-in, a meeting room foyer between sessions.

As an umbrella stand it takes less floor space than a slot rack of equivalent capacity, which matters when the entrance is already carrying a door swing, a mat and a reception desk.

What it does for the floor

Water that goes into the bin does not go onto the floor. That sounds obvious, but it is the entire mechanism: a wet umbrella held at an angle while someone queues will drip in a line across the entrance, and that line is where the slip happens. A bin at the door interrupts it.

The open top means umbrellas can be dropped in and collected quickly, which matters more than it sounds during a peak. Anything that requires care and attention gets skipped when people are in a hurry, and a skipped umbrella stand is a wet floor.

Maintenance
